Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Travel Center Manager to help lead daily operations with a focus on retail merchandising, fuel sales, and food service management. This leadership role supports the Travel Center Manager in driving operational excellence, enhancing the guest experience, and leading a diverse team across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in overseeing daily operations across the convenience store, fuel islands, and food service areas
Ensure high standards of merchandising, cleanliness, and product availability
Monitor fuel pricing, inventory, and compliance with safety regulations
Support food service teams to maintain food quality, safety, and speed of service
Train, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve performance and customer service goals
Manage staffing schedules and labor budgets effectively
Help track sales performance and implement strategies to meet revenue targets
Assist with vendor management, inventory control, and ordering processes
Ensure compliance with all company policies, health regulations, and local/state laws
Qualifications:
2+ years of leadership experience in retail, travel center, convenience store, or food service operations
Strong understanding of merchandising, fuel operations, and basic food service management
Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in basic computer and POS systems
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a travel center or truck stop environment
ServSafe Certification or familiarity with food safety guidelines
Working knowledge of fuel pricing and compliance
