Position Summary:
The Pricebook Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the company's retail item file, pricing structures, and vendor alignment across all stores. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of item setups, retail and cost price changes, and promotional pricing within the PDI Enterprise system. The Analyst partners with Category Management, Accounting, Store Operations, and IT—ensuring consistent retail execution, pricing accuracy, and compliance with vendor-funded programs.
This role requires a high degree of precision, cross-functional coordination, and process discipline to support our pricing strategies, margin management, and rebate reconciliation efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Item and Price File Integrity
Maintain and audit the enterprise item file to ensure all product details—including UPCs, descriptions, department mapping, tax flags, and vendor associations—are complete and accurate.
Execute timely updates for new item creation, retail and cost changes, and discontinued items in the PDI Pricebook system.
Promotional and Vendor Program Execution
Support Category Managers in the setup and validation of promotional pricing, including manufacturer-funded discounts and scan-based allowances.
Ensure accuracy of tobacco and cigarette promotional programs in partnership with vendor representatives and rebate coordinators.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting to reconcile accrual-based vendor programs and ensure payment alignment.
Coordinate with IT to troubleshoot POS discrepancies and support system updates impacting item file accuracy.
Act as a point of contact for Store Operations to resolve pricing or scan-related issues at the site level.
Compliance and Reporting
Conduct routine audits to identify pricing inconsistencies or mapping issues affecting scan rates, category sales, and margin performance.
Provide analytical support to identify root causes of pricing errors and contribute to continuous improvement of Pricebook processes.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred
Experience in convenience store retail pricing, category support, or merchandising systems
Proficiency with PDI Enterprise, PDI Market Link, or comparable Pricebook systems
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets
Working knowledge of POS systems (Verifone, Gilbarco, Passport) and retail store operations a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational discipline, and follow-through
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
