Director of Facilities & Maintenance
Position Overview:
The Director of Facilities & Maintenance plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations and car wash services within our organization. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with strong managerial skills to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our facilities. The Director will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians and car wash attendants, overseeing maintenance schedules, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service in our car wash operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all facilities, including buildings and equipment for client's retail, restaurant & car wash entities.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Budget and Cost Management:
Develop and manage budgets for maintenance of retail, restaurant & car washes, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all facilities.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and address any issues promptly.
Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Staff Training and Development:
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for maintenance technicians and car wash attendants.
Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork within the maintenance and car wash teams.
Recognize and reward outstanding performance and provide constructive feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or a related field (preferred). Relative experience also considered.
Proven experience in maintenance department leadership in retail/convenience store/restaurant and/or car wash.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and building maintenance practices.
Familiarity with car wash operations, equipment, and chemicals is a plus.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computer software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
