Our client has an immediate opening for Materials Manger that will direct all areas of purchasing,
production scheduling, inventory management, inbound transportation, as well as long range
resource and strategic procurement planning.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Manager is responsible for effective performance of all department functions, including communications and reporting systems.
Handles the planning and inventory, controlling inventory costs, and providing support to all manufacturing and marketing operations; including material activities and translating engineering specifications to department requirements and changes if necessary.
Lead cost reduction efforts, identifying, analyzing, and implementing cost saving procedures, throughout the company.
Manage, train and coach department staff to exemplary performance requirements and duties.
Direct all production scheduling operations, ensuring effective coordination with marketing operations to define sales forecasts.
This includes directing the translation of sales needs into production schedules, which prove to be most effective and conductive to overall schedules, and presenting proposed production schedules for approval.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
College graduate in Business, Engineering or Production Management. Engineering degree preferred.:
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in manufacturing – minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience.
Strong organization, analytical and leadership ability.
Ability to handle outside contacts and negotiation effectively.
