Director of Marketing
Company Information:
Headquartered in the Capitol City of IL, our client is a regional convenience store chain looking for an energetic Director of Marketing to develop and lead a marketing team to create programs that will maximize sales and gross profit dollars.
Your Role with the Company:
The candidate will possess the ability to measure marketing activities to evaluate program effectiveness and to continuously improve the offer. The candidate will also need to have a thorough understanding of convenience store operations to be able to drive the implementation of programs at the store level.
Background Profile:
Establish overall strategic marketing plans as well as individual category plans.
Oversee Marketing Department development and function.
Vendor Management – Contract negotiation, product mix selection and vendor relationships
Work closely, and communicate regularly, with Executive Leadership.
Analyze all category sales and gross profit contributions.
Effectively communicate merchandising programs to operations personnel and other corporate departments.
Select promotional items and develop companywide promotional calendar.
Develop advertising initiatives to promote the retail brand and communicate our offering to our customers.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred or relative successful experience.
Minimum three years recent category management experience in major convenience store categories.
Self-directed and able to complete tasks independently. Strong analytical and project management skills required, as well as the ability to be a team leader.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
