We are looking for a Petroleum Construction Foreman who will lead and oversee a crew in the field while remaining hands-on with the construction process. The ideal candidate will not only manage the day-to-day operations of the team but also actively participate in the physical aspects of the work. This role requires a leader who is comfortable getting their hands dirty, operating large equipment, and working alongside their crew to get the job done.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and actively participate in construction work for fuel system projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Operate and manage large equipment on job sites as needed, ensuring proper maintenance and efficient use.
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Oversee scheduling of project tasks and ensure smooth workflow by addressing on-site challenges and resource needs.
Lead and motivate the crew, ensuring productivity and quality work.
Maintain strong communication with customers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality.
Track labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure profitability of each project.
Report on project progress, challenges, and solutions, keeping leadership informed of key developments.
Travel to job sites as required (20-80%).
Requirements:
Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar role in the construction industry, with a focus on fuel system installations (UST, AST, etc.).
Ability to lead a team in the field while actively contributing to the work.
Strong experience operating large construction equipment.
Strong understanding of construction practices, safety standards, and project management processes.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a crew.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing conditions on the job site.
Familiarity with scheduling software (Microsoft Project, etc.) and basic project management principles.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in the petroleum or fuel systems industry is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
