Job Responsibilities:
Leadership Role: As a pivotal member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the President, you have a comprehensive understanding and oversight of all business operations and in alignment with the company’s goals, objectives, and policies.
Leadership Qualities: Be an inspirational, effective, and efficient leader. A focus on people development, superior interpersonal skills, sharp business acumen, and an exemplary work ethic are mandatory.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the President to design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures to drive growth and operational efficiency.
Performance and Growth: Establish comprehensive goals for performance and growth, ensuring these reflect the strategic vision of the company.
Supervision: Oversee daily operations and manage the work of District Managers, ensuring all operations meet set standards and contribute to financial success.
Team Development: Lead and motivate employees to maximize performance and dedication by fostering a culture where expectations are clear and mutually beneficial for both the company and its employees.
Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess the performance of leadership above store level, focusing on personal development, operational effectiveness, and financial outcomes.
Brand Expansion: Actively work towards expanding and promoting the company's brand both as directed and through personal initiative.
Vendor Relations: Manage and nurture relationships with partners and vendors to ensure mutual beneficial outcomes.
Requirements:
Experience: A proven tenured track record as a successful Director or Regional Level leader within the convenience store, travel center, truck stop or a related retail sector. Must have led multi-unit leaders in your current or recent role.
Leadership Abilities: Exceptional organizational and leadership skills to manage a large team of district managers, field support and store level employees; in addition team with department leaders on complex projects.
Financial Acumen: Strong background in financial management, with an acute ability to interpret Profit & Loss statements, analyze data, and convert insights into actionable strategies for Operations. Proficient in data analysis and understanding performance metrics vital for operational decisions.
Construction & Real Estate Development: Knowledge of construction and real estate development as it is pertinent to expanding or optimizing store locations.
Business Knowledge: Understanding of various business functions including HR, Finance, Marketing, IT, etc.; with a track record of collaborative success working within the organizational structure and cross-functional teams.
Marketing & Fundraising: Experience with community and corporate marketing initiatives and possibly fundraising to support brand growth.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
Decision Making: Strong aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving to address operational challenges quickly and effectively.
This position requires a dynamic individual capable of leading a convenience store chain through strategic growth while maintaining operational excellence.
