BAKERY CATEGORY MANAGER, GROCERY RETAIL-MICHIGAN

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
The Bakery Category Manager will lead the bakery category to maximize sales, profit, and market share while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Ensure innovative and effective merchandising for bakery resets, seasonal rotations, and promotional displays. Stay updated on bakery trends, conduct market research, and manage the selection, introduction, and discontinuation of bakery products. Cultivate strong relationships with bakery suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and ensure the consistent quality. Conduct store and competitor visits to analyze bakery trends, pricing strategies, and merchandising practices. Develop and execute bakery-specific annual, seasonal, and weekly promotional plans, including product selection, margin forecasts, merchandising directives, signage, and ad proofing. Will lead Category Analyst and multiple dotted line relationships with store personnel.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Depending on your experience and skills, your total compensation package will include very competitive base salary and bonus opportunity. Mileage reimbursement.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Must have at least 3 years of multi-store grocery retail bakery experience with proven track record of high quality and innovative offerings.
Experience utilizing a scratch central baking operation as well as creating strong relationships with existing bakery suppliers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email) and capable of learning proprietary applications and technologies.
Previous category management experience, preferably in bakery or perishable goods.
