Position Title: Director of Carwash Operations
Reports To: Vice President of Operations & Marketing
Job Summary: Responsible for overall operation and profitability of multiple car wash sites. Develops people and fosters a team environment on an on-going basis. Drives business by focusing on the customer’s experience, must have the passion and vision for best in class carwash technology, marketing and operations and ability to put plans into actions. Responsibilities include but not limited to Carwash sales, profitability, physical appearance of sites, equipment maintenance, and chemical and supply inventories. Understands and controls factors that contribute to the overall, short and long-term profitability of the carwash operations. The Director of Carwash will also be responsible for managing the staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Promote and abide by the high standards of our client and maintain regulatory and company compliances while upholding the highest standards of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the creation and implementation of sales, growth plans and upholding the carwash brand standards.
• Lead, Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Under the direction of COO and VP, will be responsible for leading, implementing and executing new carwash
technologies, sales promotions & marketing and new carwash opening plans.
• Consistently keep up with the latest industry technology, trends and marketing initiatives and bring forward ideas to
improve carwash sales, profitability and customer experience.
• Manage the budget for the carwash, ensuring that expenses are kept within budgetary constraints.
• Will act as operations liaison for all car wash locations. Will provide support to store operations, vendors, and car wash
maintenance efforts.
• Responsible for handling and addressing all customer carwash complaints.
• Responsible to lead and monitor sales, repairs, down time/up time of all car wash operations.
• Provides training to location Carwash personnel and Supervisor for operations including, but not limited to Customer
Service standards, wash reset, pay station reset, and daily paperwork reporting of car wash sales.
• Develops strong teams and fosters team environment on an ongoing basis.
• Work with facility Managers to properly investigate all car wash damages.
• Partners with Carwash team members and supervisors to ensure correct, consistent implementation and execution of
policies and procedures at the sites.
• Partner with the key field leaders to identify and resolve site issues and problems in a timely and positive manner.
• Coach, train, manage and appraise the performance of Carwash Supervisor and Carwash Managers.
• Actively participate in planning, education and execution of new company rollouts i.e. systems, technology, policies &
procedures
• Be able to travel 75% – 100% travel mostly throughout the Chicagoland area.
• Perform any other duties that are assigned by management.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field strongly preferred.
5+ years of car wash operations management experience desired.
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
The person in this position needs to constantly move and is required to be on their feet for 75% – 100% of time.
Demonstrated knowledge of car wash operations, training, equipment, profits, etc.
Execution-focused and detail-oriented with great leadership, organizational & problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to develop and implement carwash marketing strategies.
Tunnel controller experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of car wash mechanics for the purpose of diagnostic and service oversight desired. Experience in all car wash business models highly desirable – self-serve, tunnel, full-serve, etc.
Flexible schedule to serve the needs of the business and support carwash operations including nights and weekends. Knowledge computer literacy in programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, strongly preferred. Maintain a disciplined approach to managing, training and developing teams in daily work duties and responsibilities. Uphold company standards in personal appearance, policies & procedures, safety, work ethic, and customer service. Have a can- do and team building attitude in everything you do while working .
