Currently seeking a UIC (Underground Injection Control) Well Drilling Supervisor to expand its FL based operations. Qualified candidates will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of drilling operations in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Coordination: Develop drilling plans and schedules in collaboration with engineers and project managers. Coordinate logistics for equipment, materials, and personnel.
Supervision: Lead and supervise drilling crews, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures. Provide training and guidance to team members.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drilling operations comply with UIC program requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies. Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports.
Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct regular safety meetings and drills.
Operational Oversight: Monitor drilling activities, making adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and productivity. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the drilling process.
Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of well installations, including well integrity tests and other quality assurance measures.
Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and cost control for drilling projects. Track expenses and optimize resource use to stay within budget constraints.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including engineers, regulatory agencies, and company management. Provide regular updates on project progress.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with UIC wells preferred. Drilling and completion of Class I & V UIC wells
Knowledge: Strong understanding of UIC program regulations, drilling technologies, and
safety standards.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in using
drilling software and technology.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, well construction, and injection methods.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and state UIC regulations, including EPA guidelines and FL Administrative code 62-528.
Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and implementing safety best practices.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective team leadership and the ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.
Experienced with all types of related core/water sample collection, deviation surveys, packer/hydraulic testing, static/dynamic geophysical logging
Experienced with all aspects of cementing jobs
Working Conditions
Environment: Work is typically conducted at drilling sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical challenges.
Travel: Frequent travel to different drilling sites may be required. Extended periods away from home may be necessary.
Hours: This role may require long hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project demands. Work Schedule: M-F 7a – 5p on non-drilling days. When drilling it is always a 7/24 on call schedule as need to successfully manage the work.
