Human Resources Generalist (Onsite role in Kensington, CT)
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for performing HR-related duties at a professional level while supporting designated areas of the company. The HR Generalist will be responsible for the following functional areas: employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
Builds and maintains positive relationships with employees and members of management.
Ensures that all employment programs are carried out in accordance with the company’s goals, policies, and procedures.
Acts as an employee relations specialist.
Assist with recruitment tasks as needed.
Coordinates post offer pre-employment screenings and new employee onboarding experience with a seamless transition of data to payroll.
Has proficient knowledge of company benefit information.
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Facilitates employee training and development to enhance performance and meet goals.
Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
Analyzes and provides advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee performance issues.
Processes timely unemployment claims and attends hearings when necessary.
Conducts new hire interviews at established intervals and exit interviews when an employee separates from the company. Then analyzes data and makes recommendations to management for any corrective action and continuous improvement.
Investigates employee relations issues; such as, general concerns, complaints, employee misconduct, harassment, and discrimination allegations.
Handles all FMLA and ADA accommodation request.
Maintains compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred
2-5 years’ experience in a HR generalist role in RETAIL/Restaurant or like industries.
PHR preferred but not required.
Demonstrated strong capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Self-directed and detail oriented.
