Director of Information Technology
Director of Information Technology plans, directs, manages, and outlines the strategy and execution of all aspects of technology across the organization. As a part of the senior management team, the I.T. Director requires in-depth experience within the field of information technology, knowledge of state-of-the-art technology hardware and software resources, and experience in creating and presenting and executing a strategic technology roadmap.
The Director of IT must be self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well have an entrepreneurial approach to defining and building a world class technology department. The position requires managing a team of 3 IT support personnel, training, and mentoring staff members as well as building a strong customer service oriented approach across the organization.
The job position will require oversight of daily support, project planning and execution, as well as evolving the strategic roadmap over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess the organizational needs in alignment with the business goals and objectives and define and present technology strategy to senior leadership.
Plan, organize, and help define an organizational support process that continually balances staff and business priorities.
Create technical work breakdown structure, task dependencies, project plans with key milestones and deliverables, and budgets for technology driven projects.
Define, develop, and communicate I.T. procurement, security, and hardware/software policies and procedures across the organization.
Define and manage the technology related budget with respect to labor, hardware, and software.
Foster and promote a friendly, vibrant, and cohesive customer service oriented technology department in both daily support and project execution.
Develop Key Performance Indicators to measure the progression and evolution of the technology department.
Perform managerial functions such as preparing proposals, budgets, and analyzing labor costs through monthly status reporting. Manage relationships with outside consultants, vendors, and technology partnerships as well as the processing of negotiating agreements or contracts.
Partner with senior leadership team and act as a strategic partner in the evolution of technology as it relates to enabling new business opportunities.
Partner with and support the Convenient Store Managers and District Sales Managers on any store related technology related support issue.
Coach, train, manage and appraise the performance of technology department team
Actively participate in planning, education and execution of new company rollouts i.e. systems, technology, policies & procedures
Perform any other duties that are assigned by management
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of management level experience in the field of technology. Gas station/convenience store experience strongly preferred/Retail POS support experience is a must have qualification
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field strongly preferred.
Experience in using PDI system strongly preferred.
Proven leadership & performance in the field of information technology management. Have strong passion for customer service while utilizing exceptional people skills and have a desire to excel in everything you do.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective time management.
Must be self-motivated and willing to take initiative when coworkers need assistance or workload is demanding.
Strong project management and ability to prioritize work and initiatives.
Knowledge of inventory systems, point of sale, network design, and cloud based architecture integration.
Execution-focused and detail-oriented with great organizational & problem solving skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Maintain a disciplined approach to managing, training and developing teams in daily work duties and responsibilities.
Have a can- do and team building attitude in everything you do.
This is an in-office, corporate leadership role. Hybrid or Remote work is not in consideration.
Compensation: Salary, Profit Sharing + Discretionary Bonus, 401K and other added incentives.
