Director of Quality Assurance & Equipment Maintenance

Summary of Role:
This Director role will collaborate with the Team to design optimal equipment packages, manage vendor selection and relationships, help activate new sites, calibrate
initial wash quality, maintain wash quality over time, and has comprehensive ownership over repair and maintenance activities. As a team leader, the core objective is
to provide the highest quality express wash product in the industry by overseeing that the stores are fully functioning and capable of delivering top-quality wash experience,
successfully position new washes to deliver a top-quality wash, partner with manufacturers to procure all equipment, collaborate with Store Operations on optimal site plans
that enable a great customer experience, and proactively engage and adopt cutting edge industry developments. This role will report into the Vice President of Retail Operations.
Responsibilities:
Wash Quality Management: Develop and utilize an objective wash quality measurement tool to (i) set the standard for a high-quality wash, (ii) track wash quality, and
(iii) take corrective action when wash quality is below company standard.
Preventative Maintenance Program: Drive site uptime through designing and ensuring compliance to preventative maintenance processes (e.g., checklists, predictive maintenance)
Utilities Optimization: Partner with site-level leadership to optimize electric, water, gas, and other utilities expenses
Equipment Repairs: Oversee the troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and repair equipment issues
Optimizing Safety: Creates safe, clean, and compliant work environment by implementing proper wash safety protocols
Vendor Management: Develop preferential car wash equipment manufacturer relationships to ensure access the highest quality equipment at the best-in-industry prices
Installation Support: Partner with the Construction department and General Contractor to ensure proper equipment installation
Launch Calibration: Calibrate car wash equipment package for new site launches to optimize wash quality and train new staff members
Site Plan Design: Collaborate with Real Estate team to optimize site plans from a capacity and customer experience perspective
Education, Skills & Experience:
High school diploma / GED preferred
10+ years of car wash experience
Experience negotiating car wash equipment packages from leading equipment manufacturers
Deep familiarity with car wash POS vendors
Oversight of equipment installation and/or new site launches
Understanding and/or willingness to learn complex electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Structured trouble shooting process
Strong attention to detail
Work collaboratively with other team members and external vendors
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions both indoors and outdoors
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Northeast Region.
