Operations and Accounting Analyst
Our client is a maverick within the downstream petroleum and logistics industry (diesel, gasoline, propane, heating oil, kerosene and biofuels) and specialize in supplying fuel products and related services to the greater mid-Atlantic region. They are experts in complex logistics, inventory management and keep-full services for all fuel types.
The Operations & Accounting Analyst opportunity within this fast-paced, agile and entrepreneurial company is paramount to the success of the organization and reports to the President of the Company.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and tax – sales, excise, etc.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and maintain proper documentation.
Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations to optimize working capital.
Analyze financial data to provide insights into the company's financial performance and trends.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
Determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.
Learn operating principles and utilize them daily within the office environment.
Own the customer experience – think and act in ways that put the customers first.
Be a promoter of the company, its products and services.
Know your stuff – be an enthusiastic learner and advocate of our products and services.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related Field
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a wide array of customers, vendors and regulators.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Experience working with executive level personnel.
Knowledge of government process and procedures (preferred but not required)
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to occasionally work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary. The Fuel Industry happens fast and runs hard during times of need.
Entrepreneurial and highly driven personality profile. Learn the fuel industry via daily mentoring of President.
Software Used: Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Access)
Oil Industry Software – AIMS Software (specific to the fuel industry).
