UST Compliance Manager
Our client is a well-established leader in the petroleum industry, specializing in underground storage tank (UST) repair and compliance management. With a strong commitment to environmental protection, safety, and regulatory compliance, we are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join the team. The Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our UST repair and maintenance operations align with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
Job Summary:
We are in search of a Compliance Manager with a deep understanding of the petroleum industry and UST repair to oversee all compliance-related activities. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our UST repair and maintenance processes adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, with a strong focus on environmental protection and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, regulatory expertise, management, people skills, and a proven track record of maintaining compliance in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to underground storage tanks and petroleum industry compliance. Ensure that our UST repair and maintenance operations comply with all relevant laws and standards.
Documentation: Develop, maintain, and organize comprehensive compliance documentation, including permits, licenses, inspection records, and reporting requirements.
Inspections: Coordinate and conduct regular inspections of UST systems undergoing repair to identify and address potential compliance issues. Ensure that corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Employee Training: Provide training and education to employees on compliance-related matters, including safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices in UST repair.
Environmental Protection: Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of UST repair and maintenance operations, such as leak detection and spill prevention programs.
Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies accurately and within specified timelines. Maintain records of compliance-related activities.
Audit Preparedness: Be prepared for regulatory audits and assist in facilitating audits by regulatory agencies. Address any findings and ensure timely corrective actions.
Risk Assessment: Identify compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address potential issues before they become significant problems.
Vendor and Contractor Oversight: Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure their compliance with relevant regulations when providing repair and maintenance services for UST systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field (Preferred, Not Required. Experience may substitute for degree)
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in underground storage tank compliance management, with a focus on repair and maintenance.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local UST regulations in the petroleum industry.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting.
Certifications in UST compliance and petroleum industry repair is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
