Corporate Controller
Challenging newly created role with a large, dynamic, expanding company in the convenience store/fuel distribution business!
Location: Atlanta, Georgia area
Position Description:
As the Corporate Controller you are responsible for oversight of all accounting activities. This position oversees accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, and ensures compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, lender reporting, and regulatory requirements. The Controller reviews all accounting operations and works with teams with functional responsibility over GL accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, fuel, retail, and tax accounting. The Controller is responsible for the integrity of GAAP and tax reporting and ensures that systems, procedures, and controls are in place and operating to support that reporting as well as management information. In addition, the Controller works towards achieving better integration across all functional areas in the company. The Corporate Controller has direct responsibility for the Tax and Internal Audit Team and indirect responsibility for the functional accounting teams.
Background Profile:
Bachelor Degree in accounting or finance with extensive progressively responsible experience
CPA/MBA preferred
Convenience retail / fuel experience using PDI/Enterprise (preferred)
Extensive acquisition integration experience (preferred)
Proven success managing people
Knowledge of and skill in using Microsoft Excel and other common tools used in accounting
Essential Job Functions:
Consistently analyzes accounting data to ensure material accuracy
Maintains internal control and safeguards assets and expenditures
Coordinates audit and tax activity with CPA firm and internally
Ensures cash is properly stated and controlled
Understands and continually improves all departmental processes
