Summary
The Manager of Supply is responsible for securing and purchasing low-cost fuel for the retail sites, collaborating with the logistics team to ensure timely and cost-effective fuel deliveries, establishing good working relationships with the fuel suppliers, departments, and employees in the company, and contributing to functional and corporate success with a continuous improvement mindset.
Requirements
Fuel purchasing experience – day deals, merc deals, rack and contract.
Good understanding of petroleum supply chain and how markets work.
OPIS, Argus, Platts experience.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and support operations timely and effectively.
College degree in supply chain, business, or any other quantitative field.
Strong analytical skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
SQL, Power BI, Access, or any other programming or database knowledge is a plus.
Team player.
Good communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Review contract and rack cost at each terminal and assess lower cost buying opportunities.
Contact refiners and resellers to discover lower cost purchasing opportunities.
Execute day deals, merc deal, rack, or spot purchases below the contract cost.
Ensure carriers lift accordingly with the day deal directives including loading and terminal info.
Manage lifting compliance for the deals and other contracts in the network.
Record savings vs the contract along with the volume information for each deal.
Participate in strategic planning for contracting longer term and larger volume deals.
Run economic models for the lowest cost contract by supplier based on OPIS and Argus.
Assess buying performance by market in the supply chain and benchmark to industry.
Monitor supplier performance and follow up promptly to eliminate allocation issues.
Forecast for all retail locations across our branded and unbranded network.
Build a good working relationship with the suppliers to ensure a diverse fuel portfolio.
Participate in technology upgrades or other performance update projects as required.
Collaborate with different departments such as fuel pricing, logistics, environmental, accounting, and IT to reach company goals.
