Position Overview
This is a working lead position responsible for coordinating with the VP of Manufacturing to oversee the day-to-day requirements of the Sandblast and paint department to include providing daily direction to other department members.
Essential Job Functions
Cleans, sands and applies chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.
Masks and covers surfaces not to be painted.
Sprays specified amount or thickness of primer or protective, decorative or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer or enamel, on to prepared surfaces, using spray equipment.
Strips, sands, masks and re-paints surfaces and blends and polishes finish to match surrounding areas, manually or using portable power tools.
May regulate controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
May set up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders and scaffolding prior to painting.
May operate lifting and moving devices to move material and equipment and access areas to be painted.
Sandblast to meet customer requirements and SSPC standards.
Ensure proper PPE is worn by self and other members of the department.
Ensure all safety requirement are met by self and other members of the department.
Other job duties as required and requested by management.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
At least one year’s experience as an Industrial Painter and Sandblaster
