BUYER – Wholesale for Retail Convenience (in Southeast US)
Our Client is a leading 100+ year old Distributor that offers one of the largest selection of merchandise categories available in the industry. They are a direct store delivery merchandiser, operating in 30+ states across the United States
Your Role with the Company:
Seeking a passionate individual that will be responsible for executing the planning and purchasing of food service/grocery products and works with vendors on new and existing merchandise, tracks information, gathers and analyzes data, and generates reports for management review.
Procurement of food service/grocery products of the convenience store industry.
Processing purchase orders.
Maintain awareness of each vendor’s forecast performance, inventory situation (e.g. under/overstocked) and margin position.
Exhibit understanding of the relationships among the three key performance metrics (fill-rate, turns and margin) and how they affect one another for his/her vendors.
Manage inventory levels.
Negotiate product pricing.
Build and maintain vendor relationships.
Research new items and programs.
Participate in industry trade shows.
Work with sales, warehouse, accounting and inventory control.
3 – 5 years relevant experience (sourcing, procurement, planning) in Convenience Store industry.
Ability to develop, plan, organize and manage multiple priorities
Working knowledge/familiarity with supply chain / planning software (NCR Powernet, Retalix, Spaceman Suite, etc.)
Experience purchasing food service/grocery products.
