Sr Service Technician – Petroleum, Chemical and Industrial Equipment

Role with the Company:
This role is responsible for managing the professional and quality service to the company’s customers. This person will assist in scheduling service and providing direction to the other Service Technicians as well as support the Sales Teams and Warehouse Manager.
This position requires a self-managing individual that is a motivated, responsible, person of integrity with strengths in troubleshooting abilities, problem solving and can operate under the pressures of time sensitive call responses. Occasional travel and overnights.
This person will be able to troubleshoot and identify problems that would hinder our customers from servicing their customers. This would include issues from changing parts and components related to hardware failure, reloading of software due to errors, finding and replacing faulty wiring (low and high voltage) or performing upgrades and installs of equipment. This person installs, maintains and repairs fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, service station site controllers, credit card readers, tank & line monitoring equipment and other various types of fuel dispensing equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the scheduling, coordination and oversight of all service projects
Conduct service calls with a focus on quality
Communicates daily and weekly activities to the Service Scheduler and as needed to Management
Coordinates with warehouse and scheduling personnel to order all parts needed for customer orders
Provides timely management and communication regrading equipment failures, returns and warranty issues
Coordinates with management on special order equipment returns for determination of stock versus return to vendor issues
Respond to and provide 24 hour emergency support to customers
Timely and accurate completion of work orders and time sheets
Management of personnel recruitment, hiring, training, performance and succession planning
Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the Service Department
Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
Ensure customer service operated with a focus on safety of employees and equipment by maintaining safe operating practices, training and awareness
Provide professional support to subcontractors
Maintenance of building, service vehicles and equipment. Advise of needed repairs, updates, replacement as needed
Required Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage, plan, prioritize multiple tasks in a flexible, responsive manner
Excellent project management skills with focus on quality, timeliness, effectiveness, and costs
Demonstrated ability to work in customer facilities and warehouse environments utilizing safe operating practices
Ability to be a team player and work with a variety of people, customers, contactors, subcontractors, vendors, etc
Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record
Strong electronic and mechanical aptitude
Equipment Serviced:
Gas and DSL pumps and dispensers
Submersible Turbine Pumps
AST and USTs (Above Ground and Below Ground Tanks with components, probes, sensors, interstitial, etc)
Piping (
Lubrication Equipment (Meters and Pneumatic Piston Pumps)
Air Compressors (familiar with and adjustment equipment)
Experience with and Certifications for: (preferred)
