The Area Support Manager under the general supervision of the Area Brand Manager, oversees a district of approximately 5 to 10 stores with complete P&L responsibilities. The ASM ensures the overall store conditions complies with Sbarro Brands standards, including but not limited to, cleanliness, food safety, customer service and merchandising, thereby maximizing sales, profits and EBITDA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage sales and operations of multiple units. Overnight travel may be required.
Work with both vendors and Store Managers to ensure all sites within the area are clean, adequately stocked, organized and well-kept, in order to provide a positive guest experience and to maximize sales.
Collaborate with Sbarro Restaurant Managers regarding store conditions and expectations, while holding management and team members accountable.
Maintain a high level of customer service through daily interactions with customers, team members, and vendors.
Recruit, hire, train and mentor the restaurant staffs for the assigned area.
Oversee adherence to all procedures and standards, ensuring the successful daily operations and sanitation requirements at each location.
Administer company and Sbarro Brand policies to develop short term and long term range goals and objectives in collaboration with the Area Brand Manager.
Control all variable expenses with a laser focus on labor and payroll budgets.
Monthly review and influence of the profit and loss statement.
Manage employee relations issues, along with the guidance of the Area Brand Manager and Human Resources Manager.
Serve as a key player in loss prevention, internal theft and inventory shrink.
Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. Ensures restaurant managers respond to customer complaints within 24 hours. Inquires and leads by example.
Motivate, encourage, and coach all store associates.
Appropriately delegate tasks to Restaurant Managers and follow-up as necessary.
Ensures Restaurant Managers complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
Ensure execution of the safety, security and operations policies and procedures.
Analyze results and trends in store business and develop action plans to improve store performance.
Monitor competition in assigned areas – retails and hiring wages
Cultivate positive relationships with all Sbarro Brands contacts and departments
Effectively communicate company and Sbarro Brand strategies and initiatives to Store Managers and store employees.
Communicate any store issues to the appropriate channels/departments.
Assume responsibility for special assignments and projects as needed.
Completes annual performance reviews for Restaurant Managers in collaboration with the Area Brand Manager.
Ensures succession planning is an ongoing focus for proper staffing of current and future restaurants and development of all employees
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree in business or management related field preferred – will consider 3-5 years’ restaurant management experience, in lieu of a 4-year degree
Restaurant or multi-unit management experience preferred
Food Service experience is a must, preferably at the managerial level
3-5 years of experience supervising others required, preferably in the convenience store, fast food, restaurant, or retail operations field
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Reliable Transportation
ServSafe Proctor/Instructor Certified
Must be at least 21 years’ old0
Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office
Strong focus on customer service and working with people
Strong commitment to teamwork
