EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION MANAGER
Position:As Team Supervisor for a five-man installation team, you will supervise and manage the equipment and installation staff on tunnel car wash equipment projects and interface with all levels of management regarding project planning, current status and completion of projects. Also responsible for any subs that are hired for the job. Position reports to Director of Equipment.
Essential Functions
Manage the car wash equipment installation process, potentially at more than one location at a time
Recruit, hire and train qualified personnel to constantly improve installation process
Participate in management meetings pertaining to the planning and discussion of upcoming projects
Review plans for all assigned projects prior to critical path dates, noting and resolving any questions, concerns or discrepancies prior to project start date
Confirm with Procurement that all equipment and necessary supplies have been ordered in accordance with the Critical Path timeline
Verify PO numbers, ship dates and / or the physical presence of all equipment and necessary supplies in accordance with the Critical Path timeline
Conduct pre-construction meetings for assigned projects
Be on-hand, facilitate and participate in equipment delivery and set up for all assigned projects
Supervise other installation staff on assigned projects and ensure that project does not exceed the budgeted labor. This will include: electrician(s), plumber(s), helpers
Keep the project on schedule and on budget. Hit completion and start up dates, turning the wash over when scheduled and with less than 1% defects
Work with, and coordinate with, the project GC when applicable
Keep immediate supervisor updated daily on project status and any potential obstacles
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be able to travel and work away from home for up to 4 weeks per job
Ability to work in coordination with General Contractor, Sub Contractors and wash owner / manager
Strong sense of customer service
Extraordinary organizational skills
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Leadership experience and success
Ability to read project schematics, charts and other relevant documents
Good driving record
Work EnvironmentThis job generally operates in the field at the job site(s). The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme weather and noise conditions at job sites.
The position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work with a ‘typical’ work week consisting of 50+ hours. It also involves constant travel and
extended stays on job sites. These extended stays can be up to two at a time, depending on the geographical location of the job site.
