Civil Engineer PE License
COMPANY PROFILE:
A global reach civil engineering design firm primarily serving the US Department of Defense. Our clients team provides Air Base and Intermodal Infrastructure design services throughout the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean; an emerging market is India. Engineers engage in all aspects from field investigations, creating effective designs, and supporting the construction inspectors. Projects include military airfields, container handling, and sea ports.
THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
After a week-long internal training class, the engineer will work under the guidance of the VP of Engineering to learn the process for designing container facilities with the intent to lead projects, build and train staff, and become the market segment leader:
Design geometry, grading, drainage, permitting, markings, phasing for projects
Generate construction plans, reports, cost estimates, specifications
Direct and oversee plans production by design team
Mentor junior staff in design principles
Visit sites and meet with clients; participate in design review meetings
Determine project work limits commensurate with Client budgets
Knowledge of UFGS or FAA specifications a plus but not required
Be present during key construction activities, respond to RFIs and resolve construction conflicts
Domestic and International Travel

QUALIFICATIONS:
PE License required
Due to the other types of projects in the Company, all candidates must be a US citizen and capable of passing US security background checks. US military contract requirements do not allow dual-citizenship and non-US citizens
Demonstrated design, preferred lead, on large land development or large big box site civil projects of at least US $2 million in construction value
Demonstrated design experience in more than one state or country; multiple states or countries a plus
Prior US military experience a plus
Experience in obtaining USACE environmental permits or State EPA permits required
Advanced Excel and Word ability
AutoCAD and ability to use HydraCAD/Hydraflow and Stormwater & Sewer Analysis (SSA) software
Ability to travel and work at domestic and international project sites
Company sponsors travel logistics, passport, business visas, travel vaccinations, safety and security training, and other site-specific needs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum BS in Civil Engineering; MS and/or PhD a plus
PE license required
Strong writing and communication skills
Foreign languages a plus
Database capability a plus
