Job Summary:
The Senior Human Resource Associate will play a key role in managing all aspects of human resources functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills to handle recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, mediate conflicts, and promote a positive workplace culture. Address employee concerns promptly and professionally.
Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Assist employees with benefits-related questions and enrollment.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state (NY), and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, and EEOC regulations. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Training & Development: Coordinate training programs and professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and performance.
HR Policy & Procedures: Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures to align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
Payroll Support: Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including deductions, bonuses, and overtime.
Performance Management: Assist in the development and execution of performance review processes, providing guidance to managers and employees.
Reporting:
Prepare HR reports and metrics (e.g., turnover, hiring trends) to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role with broadbased HR experience to support Director of HR to include:
FMLA leave management, ACA Claims, EEOC & Worker's Comp Claims, COBRA, Open Enrollment & Benefits Administration or OSHA reporting
Intermediate proficiency with Excel to include: Formulas, Analysis, V-Lookups, etc is required. Excel Proficiency Test will be given during interview process.
Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations, particularly in New York State.
Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar).
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification is a plus.
