Fitch maintains ‘BBB’ rating on Valero Energy; outlook raised to positive

CHICAGO (AP) — Fitch Ratings on Thursday affirmed its issuer default rating on Valero Energy Corp. at “BBB” and raised its outlook to “stable” from “negative.”

Valero buys oil and refines it into a variety of petroleum products. Fitch wrote that its ratings are supported by the size, scale, and geographic diversity of its refineries, its crude oil economics, rebounding financial performance, financial flexibility and reasonable debt. [Read more...]
